Track 8:  Value Creation Networks

Value creation networks have been known for quite some time; their growing importance, however, is to be attributed to the application of mature information and communication technologies. Their use can reduce transaction costs thus contributing to a reasonably economic cooperation within the network. Value creation networks go far beyond the coordination of operational activities. This track deals with strategies, methods and concepts which aim at the design, the build-up and the operation of value creation networks. Thus new challenges and consequences arise as regards organization, control and management of IT; they will also be dealt with. The organizers seek both contributions of academic papers and substantiated, innovative examples from practitioners.

Possible topics:
  • Value creation through IT in global service networks
  • Integration costs resp. costs and benefits of different integration scenarios
  • Cost management of service architectures supposed to be integrated into value creation networks
  • Inter-operability and knowledge management in value creation networks
  • Quality and risk management of IT processes in networks
  • Adaptability and versatility of value creation networks
  • Efficiency of IT management concepts for value creation networks
  • Licence management in large-scale enterprises and affiliated companies
  • Pricing and contract management in value creation networks
