Track 2:  Business Models for Business Service

The World Wide Web has spurred the development of a wide range of specialized services. While some of them are focused on and specific to the Web itself (like search or online community services) others have extended the service scope in the offline world. The track looks at service innovation from a business model point of view: what are the specific value propositions, how can networks of service providers be coordinated and how can revenues be generated. It addresses challenges of service design, innovation and configuration and addresses the linkage between online and offline offerings.

Possible topics:
  • e-business/ ICT driven service innovation (categories of new services, e.g. market research in Second Life)
  • Service extension to physical products (informated products, learning relationship between customers and buyers)
  • Business transformation through innovative services (cybermediaries and the transformation of pricing strategies)
  • Service configuration (how to link specialized services, e.g. in tourism)
  • Service-driven channel management (how to combine services in different channels)
  • Prosuming and self-service in an online environment (how to mobilize customers and how to deal with risks involved in self service)
  • Services for ambient assisted living
  • Ecosystems for new Business Services
