Track 15: Semantic Informationsystems
Semantic modelling is getting ever more important for the operative information management. Inn general, the main advantage lies in the possibility to integrate heterogeneous information and to increase the quality of the information. In knowledge management, semantic technologies support context-aware structuring of knowledge and information and alleviate knowledge-intensive processes. In information retrieval, added value comes from the explicitly and formally represented meaning of information and metadata which increases the precision of the search process. The key challenge for this special track is to determine the economic value of using semantics in business application: starting with the analysis of the efforts required to develop and maintain semantic models, through the evaluation which business goals can be supported, till the application of semantic technologies in particular business applications.
Possible topics:
- semantic business process management
- semantic web services, their automatic discovery, composition and invoking
- semantic enterprise modelling
- semantic integration of heterogenous information systems
- supporting organisational and knowledge goals through semantic technologies
- real use cases from the industry
- social networks in the semantic information systems
- semantic-based approaches for trust, privacy, security and intellectual property rights
