Track 14:  Mobile Systems

The wide spectrum of technologies and applications that support mobile solutions for traditional and innovative business processes is steadily growing, and offers many opportunities for research. At the same time, enormous market potential can be found in the availability of standards, infrastructures for wireless services and, last but not least, the widespread dispersion of mobile end devices worldwide.

Aim of this track is the examination of all aspects of “Mobile Systems”, from the basic technology and infrastructures to the business models, value-added services, economic viability and profitability assessments. Furthermore, analysis of methodical approaches, including accompanying research about acceptance, usability and risks should be addressed.

Possible topics:
  • Mobile value-added services, location-based services, business models, billing and payment
  • Applications in B2C and B2B m-commerce as well as e-government
  • Mobile working and business processes, economic viability of mobile applicationss and their contribution to added value
  • Identity management, security and data privacy in mobile applications
  • Performance and usability of mobile applications
  • Infrastructures for mobile applications, innovative applications for PAN and WPAN, convergence vs. substitution with wireless network technologies
  • Application development, standards, development tools and methodical approaches as well as concomitant research
