Track 12: Software as a Service
Software vendors offer Software-as-a-Service solutions either as a self-contained software package or as integrated services provided by various vendors via networks for decentralized use. The resulting “Internet-of-Services” enables the development of innovative business models. For example, service brokers can emerge providing their customers implementation and operations of service-based solutions on their platform. Moreover, new challenges arise in terms of integration, pricing and billing of "Software-on-Demand" applications that, for example, dynamically integrate services into applications. The aim of the track is to analyze these developments from an economic and a technical point of view.
Possible topics:
- Strategies and business models for software and service providers
- Pricing and billing models
- Interoperability and quality of networked services
- Business models and applications for the "Internet-of-Services"
- Cooperation models and structures of value creation in the software industry
- Service-level agreements concerning Software-as-a-Service and Software-on-Demand solutions
- IT security regarding Software-as-a-Service and Software-on-Demand solutions
- Technical bases and frameworks for realization
